As the moon, I hath many faces and none have come close to conquering them all;not many know this, and so i remain alone.
As the night, my darkness hath a scary way, and none have yet figured out how it is that I've made my home.
Thus I will remain for all time here and settle nicely among the stars and sleep soundly as the night goes by me and slips away.
None have found a way to keep me as one of their own sweet things and I laugh in a humorless and cold way.
You can find out soon,
How I'm like the moon.
The title is to illustrate how this is to be taken like a letter. Actually, the first line was taken from a note written to a friend, if you want to talk of inspiration. :)

Ahhh, hello fellow bard. I extend my gauntlet to thee in the offering of kinship.
